Technical Troubleshooting: Driver App

Approved To Drive?

Ensure that you have been approved as a driver by your company

Please Note: The GetSwift Driver Application will only work for you if a business has invited you to drive for them. GetSwift does not employ drivers.

If the merchant you driver for setup manual approval of drivers, you will need to wait until you receive and email with the subject line “driver application successful”


Are You Online?

You will need to GO ONLINE to be eligible to receive delivery jobs from your employer.

Phone Software Up To Date?

Ensure that your Android or iOS software is updated to the latest version.

  • Within SETTINGS click SYSTEM UPDATES to check if an update is available

IPHONE

  • Within SETTINGS click GENERAL then SOFTWARE UPDATE to check if an update is available


Latest Version of Driver App?

Ensure that your GetSwift Driver App is updated to the latest version

  • Go to the GOOGLE PLAY STORE and check for updates

IPHONE

  • Go to the APP STORE and check for updates


Power Saving Mode NOT Activated!

Ensure that you have enough battery on your phone and not on power saving mode

  • Within SETTING click BATTERY and make sure POWER SAVING MODE is OFF

  • Allow GetSwift app to run in the background

IPHONE

  • SETTING click BATTERY and make sure LOW POWER MODE is not turned on


Notification Turned On?

Ensure that your phone is configured with the optimal notification so you are alerted when new jobs or updates come through to your app.

  • Click on NOTIFICATION SETTING within the GETSWIFT APP

  • Ensure the ALLOW NOTIFICATIONS is on

  • Ensure that a SHOW SILENTLY is OFF

IPHONE

  • ick on NOTIFICATION SETTING within the GETSWIFT APP

  • Ensure that ALLOW NOTIFICATIONS and all other options below are turned on


Location Settings on High Accuracy?

GetSwift uses the geolocation services in the smartphone.  Different phones behave differently and we recommend that for optimum results, the GetSwift App remains open at all times while a driver is logged on for their shift.  This will prevent GPS driver locations becoming stagnant

  • Click on LOCATION SETTINGS within the GETSWIFT APP

  • Ensure that the LOCATING METHOD setting is on HIGH ACCURACY

  • Click into IMPROVE ACCURACY and check both options

IPHONE

  • Click on LOCATION SETTINGS within the GETSWIFT APP

  • Set to ALWAYS


Does your phone have cell service?

Ensure that you have good cell service and data connectivity

If you are seeing OFFLINE...RE-ESTABLISH UPLINK that means you you need to "Go Online"


Unable to Login

If you are having password issues and need to reset your password, click FORGOT PASSWORD and follow the prompts to receive an email to reset your password.

If you do not receive the email within several minutes, please check your spam folder.


Other Troubleshooting Tips


Employer Settings Determine How Jobs Are Dispatched

Based on how your employer has set up their settings, you may not be receiving jobs if the dispatcher has not dispatched any jobs to you, if you are farther away from the pickup address than is allowed, or if you have reached the maximum number of jobs you can accept at one time.

  • Has the dispatcher sent you a job?

Check with your employer if you have questions about their dispatch setup.


GetSwift Does NOT Employ Drivers

GetSwift DOES NOT employ drivers. GetSwift is a software company that provides delivery management to companies. Businesses employ their own drivers and they use our software to link their jobs with their own drivers.

If you have downloaded the GetSwift app and created an account without being connected to a business that employs drivers, you will not receive job. The GetSwift Driver Application will only work for you if a business has invited you to drive for them. GetSwift does not employ drivers.

How do I become a driver for GetSwift?

  • Maintain a job vacancy board

  • Provide work for independent drivers not associated with a company

The GetSwift Driver app will not work (you will not receive jobs) if you are not approved by an employer who is using our software, please do not sign up for the free GetSwift trial offered.


When do I push On Way / Start?

En route to the DROP OFF

After you have completed the pickup and are ready to start heading to the job destination, you should select ON WAY / START on the detailed job view.  You can reach this view by selecting the job from the ACCEPTED tab.

On Way / Start to the end customer

Please keep in mind that once you select ON WAY / START, your employer and customer will be notified and able to track your position and associated ETA to job destination.

Once you have selected ON WAY for a job, the icon in the accepted job list will change as well.  This is an indicator to remind you which jobs you are currently En Route for, and which jobs you have yet to select ‘ON WAY / START’.

Merchant Account Dashboard

I am a driver and after logging into the GetSwift website, I see options for me to look at maps and reports, add payment information. Is this correct?

NO! Looks like you’ve added a merchant (business) account in error. These settings do not affect you as a driver and you cannot be directly paid through GetSwift.

I can't login to the driver app

reset your password

Approved to drive?

If you are seeing OFFLINE...RE-ESTABLISH UPLINK you need to GO ONLINE

  • Navigate to your PROFILE tab

  • Toggle ONLINE in the upper right corner

 

Re-establish uplink: that simply means you are not online and not able to receive orders.


Have you completed all of your Driver Declarations?

Driver Declarations: This is configured by your employer.  These are a checklist of items that you, as a driver, must agree to before you can go Online”and become available to start receiving tasks in the driver mobile app

Once all of the declarations are agreed to, click DONE to become available to receive jobs!

Ensure you have downloaded the correct the GetSwift Driver App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
