Live Tracking Map

GetSwift enables you to send automated SMS alerts with a live tracking map, allowing your customers to always be informed on where their order is. We also give you the ability to:

  • Customize your SMS alert messages

  • Upload your company logo so your customer has the full white labelled experience with your brand

Step 1

Go to the Alerts page in your GetSwift portal

Step 2

Go to the "Job en route" section. This will send an alert when a driver presses "On Way" button for a job.

Step 3

Choose which communication channel you want to use to alert your customer

  • SMS - text message will be sent

  • Email - email will be sent

  • Webhooks - alert will be sent to your website (please contact us to set this up)

  • SMS with Email Fallback - text message will be sent, but if it fails, then email will be sent

  • SMS + Email - both text message and email will be sent

Step 4

Edit the SMS message that will be sent to the customer and add the "trackingLink" tag to the SMS message

Step 5

Click the "Update" link on the edit box to save your changes

Step 6

If you are outside US and Canada, you can a display name for your SMS messages. Use the "SMS sender id" field to type in a max of 11 alphanumeric characters

  • This feature does not work in US and Canada and your messages will fail to send if this field is filled in

Step 7

Click the "Update" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

  • Now when your driver presses the "On Way" button on their driver app, an alert will be sent to customers!

  • Remember you need to click both "update" buttons in step 5 and 7


tips and tricks

  • SMS alerts under 160 characters in length are free within the US and Canada. In US and Canada, SMS alerts over 160 characters are charged at USD $0.20 for every additional 160 characters in length

  • The “Job En Route” alert is automatically activated when the driver pushes “ON WAY / START” from their driver app

  • SMS Sender ID is not available in all countries. See the list of available countries before activating.

Why are my future jobs not showing up for my drivers?

Notification window determines when future jobs are dispatched

If a pre-scheduled job is outside the notification window, the job will indicate FUTURE and specifies when drivers will be notified:

In this example, this job will be visible in the driver's mobile app in 37 minutes.



Dispatch a Future Job Now!

If you want your drivers to be able to view future / pre-scheduled jobs immediately follow these steps:

 

Step 1

  • Click on the Job

  • Click Actions

  • Click Edit

 
 

Step 2

  • Change the pickup time to within the original “minute to notify” window or simply, put the time as the current time

  • Push Update

  • Now your job should no longer say “Future” in blue, indicating that it is available for a driver to receive


Tips and Tricks

  • Ensure that the “Minutes to notify driver before pre-scheduled jobsetting is set up appropriately for your business model

  • For example, if you want drivers to be notified and jobs to be assigned 2 weeks before pickup time, you can enter 20160 minutes

  • Note: Modifications made to “Minutes to notify driver before pre-schedule job” will only affect new jobs entered after the change was saved in your Settings. Old jobs will continue to use the old notification time

  • You can also cancel the old jobs and then re-enter the job (ensuring that the Available / Pickup time is within the “Minutes to notify driver before pre-scheduled job” window)

If you do not want to give your drivers the option to “accept” or “reject” jobs, you can set the system to automatically accept all jobs sent to your drivers.

Do you have any drivers online?

  • drivers must be online to receive jobs!

The GetSwift Driver app will not work (you will not receive jobs) if you are not approved by an employer who is using our software, please do not sign up for the free GetSwift trial offered.


STEP 1

  • Click on the provided link in the email

  • Note: Once a business has invited you to drive for them through a link, please follow the steps below. If your account username and password has been provided to you by your employer, please skip to Step 3.

keep your Phone's software updated

  • Within SETTINGS click SYSTEM UPDATES to check if an update is available

 
  • Within SETTINGS click GENERAL then SOFTWARE UPDATE to check if an update is available

Do not activate power saving mode

  • Within SETTING click BATTERY and make sure POWER SAVING MODE is OFF

  • Allow GetSwift app to run in the background

 
  • SETTING click BATTERY and make sure LOW POWER MODE is not turned on

Keep youR GetSwift App Updated to the most recent version

  • Go to the GOOGLE PLAY STORE and check for updates

 
  • Go to the APP STORE and check for updates

Notification settings

  • Click on NOTIFICATION SETTING within the GETSWIFT APP

  • Ensure the ALLOW NOTIFICATIONS is on

  • Ensure that a SHOW SILENTLY is OFF

 
  • Click on NOTIFICATION SETTING within the GETSWIFT APP

  • Ensure that ALLOW NOTIFICATIONS and all other options below are turned ON

Location settings

  • Click on LOCATION SETTINGS within the GETSWIFT APP

  • Ensure that the LOCATING METHOD setting is on HIGH ACCURACY

  • Click into IMPROVE ACCURACY and check both options

Navigating the GetSwift Driver App

Go Online

You will need to GO ONLINE to be eligible to receive delivery jobs from your employer

Android users

  • Navigate to your PROFILE tab

  • Swipe the ‘toggle’ (a line with a circle) in the top right corner


iPhone users

  • Navigate to your ACCOUNT tab

  • Toggle the I’M OFFLINE button


Navigation Bar

Application Layout: The GetSwift Driver application is divided into four(4) main tabs; Profile, Archived, Accepted, New.  You can navigate between and return to these tabs at anytime using the navigation bar always found at the bottom of the page.

Profile

  • The profile tab contains useful information and links regarding your account

Archive

  • The archived tab contains detailed information about jobs that you have previously completed, abandoned and declined. This information will be held for 24 hours

Accepted

  • The accepted tab contains a list of jobs that you have accepted or that have been assigned to you

New

  • The new tab contains jobs that have become available for you to accept

Delivery Essentials Actions

Drivers are required to perform three essential actions for each order that is allocated to them:

1. Accept Job

  • Assigns the job to you to complete the delivery

2. On Way / Start

  • Click when on on the way to the end customer

3. Complete Order

  • When the order is delivered click Complete so you are ready for you next!

Operating Environment

GetSwift is a Software as a Service (SAAS) platform

This means that it uses the internet and app’s to “host” the software.  In simple terms, you can use GetSwift anywhere, on any computer or smartphone.  You do not need to purchase any additional hardware or install any software, aside from the phone app.  However, you do require an active internet connection.

We strongly recommend that you have a stable, broadband internet account to use GetSwift to its optimal capacity.
